Ramson

Came upon this good crop of Ramson on our walk today.

Ramson, or Wild Garlic, is an attractive plant which smells strongly of garlic for a short time
It has broad basal leaves and a large stalk with a cluster of white flowers which appear from April to June.

Ramson is predominantly a woodland plant. Once established, the plant can propagate vegetatively to cover a significant portion of the woodland floor, providing a dark green carpet and an explosion of colour and smell in late spring.
