of grandma’s fashion

these were the kind - like she had in old germany - which she brought - with her from - when she moved here - of course she’s no - longer with us - and now my mama - has what remains - of those ornaments after - so many moves - and years of packing - and unpacking to put them - on the tree and have - tiny hands finger them - unfortunately a number - have broken which - is just part of life

but then you see - ones like this - an attempt to recreate - what once was - it may come close - but not really - nothing will ever - compare to those - handblown glass ornaments - of grandma’s which were - so delicate and almost - lifelike that you thought - you were holding - a piece of the planet - in your hands - the artistry was incredible - and i’m not sure - i have ever seen - anything to compare

yet having a simple - mock off brings - up wonderful memories - of a long ago - time spent with a - woman i admired greatly - warm memories which make it…
