Two and a Half Mile Stone

Went out for a short walk to inspect the blue bells in the woods and returned home along the deserted Saddleworth Road which is closed due to water main repairs.

This is a grade II listed turnpike milestone opposite High Trees Lane.

Constructed from stone and cast iron, it reads 'Elland 2 1/2 miles, Rochdale 16 miles
