A Very Special Wedding Photo

This is a very special addition to my collection of old wedding photos as it is of Blipper Pat (Shygirl73).  Pat and her husband were married on the 22nd September 1962 St Peter's Church, Whitley Bay.  This year Pat & Mr SG73 have celebrated the Diamond Wedding anniversary!  

They should of course have received a telegram from the monarch congratulating them, but owing to the Queen's recent death it was delayed.  I am pleased to say that they did receive one from The King & The Queen Consort on the 3rd of November.

Pat is pictured here with her bridesmaids Eileen and Denise.  I'm sure you will agree that Pat looked lovely on her big day.  She told me that due to it being a windy day her veil was blowing backwards in this photo.

The wedding was reported in The Whitley Bay Guardian.  The couple honeymooned at Haggeston Castle.  She said the reporter did not look very impressed when she told him it was a caravan site.  However, nothing wrong with that.  My sister and her husband bought fish and chips and went back to their new flat after their wedding reception.  

Pat and her husband went on to have two sons and still live in Whitley Bay.
