Last Day
Our last full day in Tokyo. It's been a great holiday and lovely to see Andrew, Noriko and Kio.
During coffee Pete and I decided we ought to buy some presents to take home but also make the most of our last day. So we scanned the tourist guide and decided on the Edo-Tokyo Museum, somewhere I've been before but is very interesting and shows the history of Tokyo from when it was known as Edo in the 1500's up to 1964.
There is a very nice small garden close by and we took supplies from the local 7-11 (now known as 7i) and had a bench picnic watching the sparrows, pigeons, egret and turtles.
The museum is close by the Sumo Wrestling Centre and we saw two or three Sumo on the streets at least one on a bicycle. The museum there is free to get into when there isn't a competition going on, but unfortunately we didn't have enough time to do both.
The photo was taken as we were walking back from the Edo-Tokyo Museum to the metro station. An off-shoot canal from the Sumida River had an interesting metal bridge on which we were able to stand and take photos of the house-boats and buildings glowing in the sun which was starting to set.
