King of the birds
After a rest yesterday, I decided to try for a walk at the local nature reserve today. As I drove in the car park I realised there was a to of people who had obviously had the same idea! So instead of heading for the nearest hide, I turned the other way and headed to what used to be a hide but which is now just a disguised viewing point. It was also a short and manageable walk! I don't often see much from the viewing point (although have in the past seen a otter there and the occasional bearded tit) Today, however I dropped lucky and this magnificent kingfisher stopped by for me. I also so a lovely Cumnock and a good few fieldfare passing through nabbing the berries.
in extras I have put a friendly robin AND a robin feeding from a fellow birder's hand.
Must confess after a walk of 0.58km and a short trip to a small Tesco for bread, I am again pooped. This long covid malarkey is not funny.
