A very nice man …..
It’s been an interesting day……
Two hospital appointments, one here and one in Llandudno; the hairdressers; more time on the phone after the third parcel of stoma supplies still has items missing; phone calls to clarify the Covid testing requirements pre-boarding in Sydney; a trip to Boots to find my order here has yet to arrive - and then, just as we’re returning from Llandudno, the car decides to break down!
Fortunately, there’s a helpful guy walking past who helps to push it to the side of the road, and before long, a very nice AA man arrives. It’s the starter motor, he tells us, it’s completely shot. G jump starts the car with his help, and we drive to a local garage, followed by the very nice AA man just in case the car cuts out again. He’s also offered to take us home when we leave the car there.
But of course, the garage can’t do anything until next week - no good to us - so G, having left the engine running, drives the car home - followed once more by the very nice AA man. It will now sit on the drive until we return in February - we’ll face the problem then. Thankfully, we’re not relying on it to get to the airport!
Hardly a relaxing day, but I do manage an iPhone shot of the town clock and Christmas lights on my unsuccessful visit to Boots, deciding it’s marginally more interesting that our car being towed by the very nice AA man! And I do at least manage to post my blip on the correct day for once - even though I’m afraid I’ve yet to look at journals.
(The original clock only dates from 1989 and has a rather sad history. It was recently replaced with a replica - clearly town clocks from the 90s weren’t built to last!)
