A very big bird!!!

This is straight out of the camera, no cropping!! Would have been better if there had been a beautiful blue sky as a backdrop, but I will try again when the weather is better than today. Depending on wind direction we get two big cargo planes over every day, at about 11.50 & 15.15.

I wasn't intending to try to capture the plane today. B spent hours cleaning the front drive, the patio and steps with his new water blaster thing that arrived last week. It made cleaning off the months of grot quite an easy job. I did some digging, moving, planting etc at the same time.

We were accompanied by our little friend from yesterday. He was rewarded with worms, grapes and seeds, quite a feast. The other birds watched from a distance.

I was outside trying to take pictures of him when the plane came over!!

As soon as we had finished the feathered gang arrived to see what was left. I think this is one of this years collared dove chicks. He sat on the fence for ages whilst the adults fed on the ground and then disappeared as soon as they did.

A magpie landed and fed for a while (a first). He has an injured leg/foot :0(
