Beach holiday?

Our son M celebrated his 30th birthday anniversary in IJmuiden, far away from family and friends. Well, that's what he thought. But his fiancé suggested we come nevertheless. So, we booked a three bed room in a hotel (always a challenge) in Zandvoort. After we had a late start (Teba was sick, but we gave it a try nevertheless) we drove 500km, checked in, and had a walk of an hour on the beach.
Pretty cold, as you can see in my blip there was some snowfall before we arrived. But still, being at the beach is great.
We then went to IJmuiden and parked our car a bit away from the restaurant. We had just left the car when M and friend C arrived. At first he didn't see us, but was more interested in the ships at the quay. But when he noticed us he was really surprised. And positively surprised.
We had a lovely dinner in De Meerpaal. The food was very good. It was a different kind of enjoying fish. (Teba ate fish and chips, yes, on a newspaper.)
So, not really a holiday, just a short trip.
