Today's the day ......................... to smell the garlic

We passed this vast expanse of roadside flowers on our way north to Edinburgh this evening. Wondering what they might be, we stopped the car and rolled down the window to have a closer look. That's when the aroma hit us.

Not sure of the exact species - but no doubt at all that they were some kind of wild garlic ........................
