Slow germination

I'll be growing 6 broad bean plants in the spring, 3 green cultivars and 3 crimson ones.

The green ones are already in the ground and these (ordered and sowed in leafmould later) have been very slow to germinate. 

I came to the plot to have lunch in the greenhouse and noticed one of the broad beans has finally germinated, after nearly two weeks...

I've admitted defeat now as even the woodchips are frozen solid. I'll have to wait until milder temperatures return to progress with the various jobs I've started.
