A Bridge Over...

Back in January I Blip this bridge, it looked nearly complete. The planning for it started back in 2011. 

It has been there ever since but closed to everyone, not even pedestrians. There have been rumours it was sinking, other said it wasn't high enough for the electrification of the train lines it goes over. Possibly the footpaths were not wide enough, who knows..?

Well without fanfare or a single ribbon in sight it was finally opened during the cover of darkness early this morning. Apparently it is so over budget and over time not even our MP (PM) was available with his scissors.

The council, who have been behind all the twists and turns seemed to have forgot to tell their gritter lorries to pay a visit...

So it's a bridge over budget, over time and over a rail line with no trains today!

In Extras: In other news it is my birthday today (the one the Beetles sang about) and one of my presents was an excellent illustrated book by Albert Kiefer aka Housesketcher. Some weeks ago I took a drawing course of his and this is his printed book taken from his Instagram images. It is the only one he has done but there are other pirate books for sale online. Only this one has the quality and style he demands. It is absolutely stunning.
