A day in the life

By Shelling

Welcome

Mother cow brought her calf, only hours old, away from the herd for a quiet feeding time together. It's eleven degrees cold and mother is still licking her calf clean but the calf dosen't seem to notice the cold very much, eons of time in the wild must have prepared it somehow. The calf is the newest in a row, during the last winterdays and weeks several calves has seen the day of light here.

The time is nine in the morning, scraping the windows of my car while waiting for Martin, my landlord to get ready for wood-gathering again. I'm helping and my payment is wood for next winter. The morning is gorgeous, sun, no wind and not too cold, it's no problem spending three hours outdoors. Gathering wood-logs makes you very warm after a little while, besides, it's nice to work together.

The afternoon was spent together with Halima and we got one third of the way through editing the singing she did yesterday. Probably we'll finish it after Christmas.
