Nestled

Just a pile of leaves caught in the centre of a rotted out tree stump. I liked the mix of textures and rich browns in the leaves set against the black of the stump. Almost looks burnt.

I played with a bit of dodging and burning on the leaves to give them dimension. It's subtle, but I think worthwhile.

In other news, it was warm enough (relatively speaking) to melt the remaining ice on the lake. The water is very clear now.
