Friday: Belizean Time

I worked from home today which was a nice treat.  Towards the end of the working day the house filled up with colleagues decorating for our staff Christmas party tomorrow.  It is definitely taking some getting used to that our house is a bit of a free for all.

This afternoon my colleague and I drove up to Orange Walk, about two hours north of Belmopan to go to the annual governmental Christmas party.

It was due to start at 7pm and, being British, we arrived pretty much on time.  They were still setting up and there was not a soul to be seen, not even the host.  So we decided to drive round the block a few times.  Even the guy on door said he thought that was a good idea.

This is my colleague at 7.50pm when we were still the only guests.  This Belizean time is definitely taking an adjustment.  So there’s something else to get used to.
