Harrington.
This was taken early today. The tide was coming in and I got a wet foot as water came over my ankle into my waterproof shoes! This scene shows the Elleckbeck entering the sea. This small stream flows through Harrington, through a wide pipe into the harbour before entering the sea. The view is showing the beach facing north. It is a mixture of sand, stones, shingle and boulders. The cliffs in the background are iron and steel making waste. These 'slag' cliffs are a feature around Harrington and Workington due the industry that was once here. Clouds were a feature this morning and in places blue sky appeared. It was cold. Frost has gone and now we wait for ice and snow which has been forecast.
