Migration

There were dozens of Canada geese (Branta canadensis) on the water at the park. The birds stopped to rest here for a bit before continuing their migration south. They are leaving just in time because we are expecting arctic air to arrive here in a few days. It will be a bitter cold week with lots of snow.
