Sanderling

A busy day catching up on paperwork for my other job but i did manage a brief trip out down to the beach. The Sanderling are starting to look very smart, almost in full summer plumage. There were at least 200 on the beach plus Dunlin and Purple Sandpipers - all heading north, on migration.

Sanderling fascinate me - they run around on the water's edge, in and out of the water and remind me of wind up toys :-)
