Mum

This is a portrait of my mother, not long before she passed at age 70.
I came across this very long string of small wooden beads and realised she was wearing them when I took the photo reference for this painting.  I'm wondering where she got them - perhaps they were handed down from
her paternal grandfather, who we have heard was part Shoshoni American indian.
