Truce

It's been quite a day today.  I was booked in for a volunteer shift at the food bank in Hamilton, had these great plans to set off a bit early, get myself a breakfast cinnamon bun from the Cadzow bakehouse and have a fully belly for the shift.  Then realised the estate was an ice rink when I was about to set off. Lucikly there was a bus in two minutes so I gingerly sprinted round and still made it in time for my shift, but not the cinnamon bun.

The foodbank was very well organised and I was tasked with checking and sorting the best before dates on the soup and beans.  Took me back to my warehouse days and I right enjoyed it.  A couple of local footbal teams came in with donations and there was a good team getting everything done. The shift finished early and I was just in time to get to the bakehouse before it shut - got garlic and cheese rolls, a christmas bun (sold to me as 'it's like cinnamon roll and a mince pie had a baby') and a slice of biscoff yule log.  Pretty good haul.

P didn't have quite as succesful a morning.  He went outside to warn a neighbour about the terrible conditions of the roads and paths, only to have the self-locking door shut behind him when the cats decided to have a fight behind it.  With no key and no phone, we borrowed a jacket and a fiver from the neighbours and turned up at the foodbank to get my keys. I think they knew they were in the bad books, hence sitting on me all evening, as evidenced by the blip.
