We succeeded in cycling a route in the shape of a Christmas tree (extra). It was bitterly cold and we seemed to be the only cyclists who ignored the -5 thermometer reading.
Bert now has heating insoles in his shoes, but still complains of cold feet. I sent him for a walk, because I expected that walking would make him warmer. And it did. For a short while at least.
Before leaving, I have filled my bottle with warm water and put it in a sock. (extra) It has helped against freezig, like the water in Bert's water bottle, filled with cold tap water.

We are learning a lot, but will not need this knowledge during the Festive500, because higher temperatures and rain are expected.
