Day 14 in the hospital

We had a lovely sleep at home in our own bed last night, then a nice hot shower, which always makes one feel good.  We had the day off until after we’d taken daughter and son-in-law to the airport.  They’ve had a very difficult year and work 24/7, so this holiday is just what they need.  I was so proud of my daughter, as she’s decided to leave her wig at home and just face the world without hair, which she lost from the chemo treatment she’s had over the last few months.  She looked fabulous.

MrMacD dropped me off at the hospital then took the car home and returned on the bus.  Mum has had red socks put on her feet and even has a blanket wrapped around the back of her head and shoulders to keep her warm.  Her breathing is reasonably steady but she does seem to have gone downhill a bit since yesterday.

We ate our supper, which MrMacD heated in the microwave, then caught up with emails and messages and played silly games on our iPads until it was time to settle down for the night. Hopefully it’ll be a restful one.

I found two portraits around the corner from the ward and took photos for today’s blip, along with the plaque alongside them, which doesn’t actually tell you very much.  Unfortunately, the ceiling lights are reflected in the glass.
