Sunset over snowy Rodborough Common

After a lovely cold sunny day, the snowy landscape looked lovely under the colourful sunset.

The contrail is a regular feature of our skies as we are under the descending flightpaths of transatlantic planes. I rather like their varying patterns in the sky. I took this picture about ten minutes after 4pm only a few days before the winter Solstice, looking south-south-west from my study window.
