Black Ice

The rain and black ice arrived in the night, as forecast. 

The thaw, however, didn't.  I took this blip in the afternoon, and you can see black ice still covering the armrest of a garden chair, just like every surface. The extra shows a window frame with little icicles growing on it from the freezing rainwater.

I gritted the path to the street this morning, but soon another layer of ice formed over the sand, and made going out perilous again. Basically, we were stuck in the house all day, waiting for the ice to melt (which it didn't - it's still only +1°C).
