Painted baubles...
Backblip
Since we don't have birthdays, but birthday weekends, we had arranged for Ele and Kenny to come up and go out for dinner to our favourite little Italian restaurant, Delivino. This was also in jeopardy due to the snow and ice (elbow crutches are lethal enough in the rain and utterly useless in snow and ice!) so after David took Lola for her morning walk, he headed down the High Street to check the pavement situation outside the restaurant. He was delighted to see that Frank or one of his lovey team, had cleared and gritted the pavement outside so dinner was on!
Got some more wrapping done then spent a relaxing hour in the studio painting Christmas baubles (I was supposed to be tidying my desk up!) then it was time to get ready to go out.
Ele and Kenny arrived and we piled into their car (Ele offered to drive since it was D's birthday we were celebrating) and off we went. She managed to drop us off right at the cleared bit of pavement, which unfortunately had started to freeze over again. This meant my elbow crutches were useless so instead I clung onto David to make the ten steps to the restaurant door. I couldn't stop laughing at how ridiculous we must have looked to any passers by. I am sure they must have been thinking jeez, she's already pissed and she's just arriving at the restaurant! :-)))
It's been ages since we've been in the restaurant and we received the usual warm welcome. Food was delicious as ever and it was great to catch up with Ele and Kenny. Haven't seen them since before we went to Northumberland and they went to Spain.
Back home and into the living room with the fire on and to catch up with the final of Strictly (D & K were very excited about that - not! But as Ele pointed out, we've spent many an evening with them watching the golf highlights for hours!)
I was hoping Helen would win but not unhappy that Hamza took the trophy.
Finally rolled to bed at almost 2am! See if we can beat that on Hogmanay :-)))
