Christmas is coming
I received the loveliest card today from Sal - it's a jointed Santa. It's so lovely I had to put it on the tree straight away.
The next nice thing was meeting my German friend on Zoom for our shared German/English chat. The German part went by so fast today. My German is still not good but I do think it's improving slowly.
I've been wanting to make a pomander but the cloves I ordered didn't get delivered. So today after Neil and I dropped off a couple of presents to some friends we went into town and I got some cloves. The M&S ones were much nicer than the ones in Waitrose.
I vaguely remembered what to do from an ancient Blue Peter programme when the kids were young, and we've got ribbon and a wooden skewer and I dug out my blocking pins, and hey presto! Pomander! I hope it will make the room smell lovely, seeing as the tree isn't doing that, or not that I can smell. (My mouth tastes funny post-covid but I didn't think my sense of smell was affected. I can smell most things!)
So it's beginning to feel a bit Christmassy here. And tomorrow is the solstice!
