A flurry of gulls

This was at Par beach today. I had hoped to see the kingfisher, but as usual only saw a few men with long lenses prowling about looking for the kingfisher.

Instead I saw a LOT of gulls, all flying around at one end of the beach. There was nothing obvious that they were feeding on, (in fact they weren’t feeding, but just flying around) but there were CROWDS of them. Quite a few people were watching them, and no one could work out what was going on
