Memorial Day 2009

In the USA, we celebrate Memorial Day on the fourth Monday of May. Across the 3000 and more miles of our country, communities, large and small, hold parades and ceremonies in honor and memory of those who have served...and are currently serving...in the Armed Forces of our country. In this picture, you see the Firefighters Pipe and Drum Unit marching in the parade.

It was a beautiful day for this parade and ceremony and for all the picnics and gatherings of family and friends who also celebrate Memorial Day as the unofficial opening day of summer.
