The nutty is back
I was very pleased to see a nuthatch feeding repeatedly on the sunflower feeder today. We've been used to seeing them virtually every day for years as several pairs breed nearby, but for several months I hadn't seen one at all.
You can imagine how I smiled when I first saw it land on the feeder, and then keep returning to it again and again. It always flies away to the bottom of the garden and sometimes on into the valley beyond. It is hard to see its approach, as they are very shy and fast. They don't hang about for photographers.
