We discovered that M's madenhair ferns had an infestation of aphids so after dunking them in water and spending hours squishing I commented that she needed a lady beetle and explained their love of aphids. We even had a discussion about whether such species are bred for pest control purposes. Then we got in the car to go out and there was this lady beetle inside the car. Caught in a coffee cup he was transported to his new home....unfortunately he didn't choose to stay long.
