The Turning of the Year

Home late from Birmingham.  Unsurprisingly a drive in the dark on the shortest day.   Home to find the first spring crocus bud emerging.  Crocus danfordiae, the smallest crocus, this from seed sown in 2009.   A promise of brighter days to come.
