First rays of sun…..

Today is the summer solstice…. the longest day of the year. I can’t believe how quickly it has come around. Here in New Zealand we are in daylight-saving mode. In Blenheim sunrise is at 5.45am. And sunset is around 8.58.pm. I love the long summer days. However today’s weather was anything but summery. This image shows the only sunshine we had. The sun’s rays shone briefly beneath low golden clouds in the east, then as it rose higher it disappeared for the rest of the day.
