I'm pretty sure this is a large-leaved lime. It is a magnificent specimen, near the entrance to St Ives Estate. What is so attractive at this time of year its fine, almost translucent leaves which produce many shades of green where they overlap.

We cycled past it this morning when the sun was almost out but the effect was muted when I went back later in the day and it was drizzling. However, we can't keep waiting for the sun to re-appear!
