The Bellamy Mansion

Tonight the tour was free and the house was decorated with Christmas decorations  of the era.  In Wilmington, the house was built by enslaved labor and freed men artisan talent between 1859 and 1861.  The details were amazing and a member of the Bellamy family, the youngest daughter of the original owner lived in the house until her death at age 94 in 1972.  It was then donated to Peservarion NC to be kept as a museum.

After the tour, we went to a local sports bar called Hell's Kitchen, nothing special but a very good turkey club sandwich.  Feeling a little more festive now that we've put that behind us.  But it is fun to drive around old Wilmington and see the beautiful old houses decorated for the holidays.
