Surprise!

The dentist came to check that dad's broken tooth wasn't causing any urgent attention requiring a difficult trip to the surgery. 

Extraction completed! We were all a bit taken aback and, after a good sleep to recover, Dad was mightily relieved by the next day to be without ragged edges and the prospect of a trip to Leith.
