End of an era

Like all fans of Manchester United, we've been dreading this day for many years. Sir Alex has played such a huge part in the success of the club and been responsible for some of my best times and I have some great memories from the last 26 years.

Strangely this photo was taken exactly 17 years ago, as it was on my brother's 10th birthday (pictured at the front with a really cool 'Eric the King' cap and matching t-shirt). We were all together to actually celebrate my grandpa's 70th birthday with a game of hockey at Chester Hockey Club.

This was my first year at university (pictured at the back with the very 'on trend' curtains hairstyle) and when Dad picked me up we made the journey across to Chester via Old Trafford. After a quick trip to the megastore who should we see but Alex Ferguson.

He was kind enough to pose for a photo with my other brother and sister and it has made a great family photo ever since.
