Fat to Thin

This knitted Xmas decoration will no doubt go from fat to thin over the holiday period, whereas I’ll get even fatter! Another very wet day today and another planned walk cancelled. Instead I did some admin and cleaned the hard floors, plus I had a lovely long FaceTime with my friend T. 

Covid Update
The weekly ONS infection survey of private households up to w/e 9th Dec showed an estimated 1 in 45 with the virus in England (up); 1 in 40 in Scotland (up); 1 in 55 in Wales (uncertain); and 1 in 50 in NI (uncertain). The antiviral treatment Molnupiravir has now been shown to reduce recovery time and the viral load, but did not decrease death rates or hospital admissions. It implies it would not be suitable for the entire population, but in extreme circumstances could reduce pressure on the NHS. There are fears of a severe new wave of Covid in China as it dismantles its zero-Covid policy after protests. In effect, this will be China’s 2nd wave across its 1.4billion people and some experts are concerned this is a ‘wild card’ for the pandemic as a whole.
