The tree is in place!

We are a bit ahead of the usual Christmas tree decorating!   Terry cut the tree down yesterday and today he got it into position.  This takes some doing....first he has to do some 'alterations' which involves the filling in of spaces in the tree with branches - very technical ;)  

I got the lights on and some of the other stuff, but i'm not happy - it looks lopsided....so tomorrow i'll deal with it and put up the array of decorations that we have gathered over the years!   I actually love that part, remembering the story attached to some of the little decorations that came with me when i moved here 13 years ago!

We have a few squash left over from the fall harvest, so i made butternut squash and carrot soup....curried and a bit of a hit of cayenne.... that'll be part of tonight's dinner!!

This little display is on our windowsill - love the lights at this time of year.
