Let the holiday begin

It was raining torrentially as I drove over the Hog's Back this morning on my way to the studio. Fortunately the roads were quiet - I guess the great getaway has happened.

We had a pleasant day - there were five of us - and we had agreed to bring in some nibbles so that we could have a festive lunch in between printmaking. Someone had even had the foresight to chill a bottle of wine in the fridge. It was nice to sit and chat and eat the little treats.

There were even fewer cars on the road on the way home, the least I have seen on a Friday evening since the pandemic.  I can only conclude that the holiday has begun.
