Happy Birthday to me
Carl and I had lunch in Ouzo's restaurant in Dalkey to celebrate my birthday. I'd already been wonderfully well looked after yesterday, what with a cake and a huge bottle of bubbly and, after midnight, the present I'd asked for, Apple's latest 802.11n Airport Express to upgrade my wireless network at home.
Ouzo's, which is in the building which used be Monkberry's (a really good place that specialised in a brunch menu but closed down a good few years ago) was surprisingly busy for a Monday. The lunch special menu is a bit limited, but the place itself and the service were excellent. We spent a pleasant ninety minutes or so there, after which I dropped Carl back home and made my way back across the city.
Yesterday's glorious weather was nowhere to be seen, but at least the sky hadn't reverted to the dull featureless grey which had hung over all last week. I did a quick blip-stop at Sandymount Strand, got home around 3.00 pm, grabbed a nap, set up my new airport Express, and was generally lazy for the rest of the day. Thankfully, there was no further material from the quarterly magazine client, so I was being lazy with a clear conscience.
