The accidental finding

Quiet shift in the Shambles

Excuse the bit-of-tree on the right. I had a stall inside the Church hall, to try and sell some of my remaining Christmas stock. Strangely, I sold three large advent calendars for NEXT year, but not a lot else. It was a joy just being back in that market, though, and the 'Alternative Christmas 22' playlist from Spotify went down well.

Then got a phone call to say there was a card that needed to be handed over at home, and a game collected. Curses! I knew I needed to have a rest after packing up and putting away my stall, because we've both been sleeping badly, and we were due to go out later, but had to have dinner first.
I phoned the well-wisher when I got home, and she turned up with her husband about an hour later. I was very inhospitable and did not even offer them a cup of tea! I just don't understand why some retired people wait  to hand- deliver cards until two days before Christmas,  pouncing  on their unfortunate working friends, and expressing surprise that they are STILL working! Call me the Grinch.
Anyway, they weren't to be fobbed off. Asked what I was doing tomorrow.
"Watching TV in my pyjamas and seeing nobody" I said pointedly.
"How about coming to a tea party on Boxing day?" was the reply.

I don't think it's dawned on some people yet that I don't have school holidays any more. I work for the NHS and have two days off for Christmas, and one for New Year. I don't need to spend every one of those holiday minutes seeing other people. I see people all the time. At this rate, a Desert Island (with servants) is looking good for Christmas
next year.

Rant over, for now. CleanSteve will.probablt write about the superb concert we attended, so I'll leave it to him. It was a perfect way to end the day.
