Cutie in a Kilt

Today's big event was the dedication of Hamp5on's nephew, Sammy. His Daddy is Scottish, hence the kilt; his Mummy is half-French, so the godparents and grandmaman were over from France.

Dedication in our church does not involve water and is not "making the child a Christian" - we leave that for the child to decide for himself. It is, rather, acknowledging that the child is a gift from God, and promising to bring him up in the love of God as much as we are able.

We all then had lunch in the Royal Assembly Hall - a gorgeous small hall - will blip it another day... the Sutton roses in the stained glass are stunning.
