Wesołych Świąt.. Happy Christmas

Wigilia..
Our Christmas Eve meal which we celebrate tonight and wish each other peace whilst sharing and breaking the host ( photo). The meal starts when the first star is seen and traditionally is 12 dishes representing the 12 apostles, and only fish, no meat The whole evening is full of symbolism. I don’t do 12 dishes but with a stretch of the imagination!!.. it’s a day of fasting till the evening.When I was little we sang Polish carols after the meal and then opened presents… it was soooooo long to wait . We had to hide inanother room as the angel brought them. We had already seen St Nicholas in December 6th. I never had a Father Christmas and a stocking etc.. it still feels strange! My own family now talk of having two Christmasses.. and keep all the traditions going!
