Sun
A few minutes of sunlight on Christmas Eve, which is the day when we celebrate Christmas. It starts at noon with the declaration of Christmas Peace from Turku (since the 13th c), then at some hour there's sauna, then dinner, then comes 'Father Christmas' (originally an elf with a billygoat carrying the presents, then later an elderly man driving a reindeer pulling a sled/pulka.) Yes, he either comes in, or the family can hear some stomping, and later on find the basket with the presents on the door step.
Lovely old memories from even the war years. Christmas is a good tradition (if I may say so), it brings out something good in most people, and we need that especially today.
I am alone, but I am fine. The silence is soothing.
