Christmas Eve

I spent three hours upstairs wrapping gifts this morning. As I was taping and cutting, I thought back to my grandmother teaching me how to wrap and fit bows when I was a little girl in Hawai'i. I miss her and Hawai'i. The holidays are always hard being so far away from family.

On a happy note: we're baking Christmas cookies for Santa and making a Hainan Chicken for dinner. There's a slight buzz in the air tonight as we wait for morning.
