Cheers!
Everyone is here now. Last year we got the Italian deli to make up platters for us, but this time we decided it was cheaper and better to make our own. It was better, because we only chose things we like (we got some horrid Norwegian cheese last time). A fine array of meat and cheese, some dressed crab, home-made sausage rolls, sourdough bread freshly made by R, various condiments and nibbles, and a bottle of cava. Followed by a traditional trifle made by me. Not so traditional: in the absence of dessert wine, I soaked the Madeira cake in some Finnish cloudberry liqueur that has been in the drinks cupboard since about 1975. I did taste it first, and it was better than the cream sherry that was the other option.
Have a lovely Christmas, blipmates!
