Light on the world
The rain stopped and I went out to do a slow parkrun feeling rather sluggish, but it was good to be out. As I was leaving the park I saw the sun trying to get through the clouds and it reminded me of this modern carol - substituting light for joy.
Joy has dawned upon the world,
Promised from creation:
God’s salvation now unfurled,
Hope for every nation.
Not with fanfares from above,
Not with scenes of glory.
But a humble gift of love:
Jesus born of Mary.
On the way home I bought a new microwave as we decided that was the source of the smell, and once back home I made some some and di the ironing (tea towels and aprons from cafe, I don't iron my own!) and then the efforts of the last few days caught up with me and I had to have a snooze.
Christmas Eve service at 7pm but not many out, some we expected were unwell and the return of the rain might have deterred others.
