"High Peak Hog Race"

Glossop Kinder Velo Cycling Club held their first High Peak Hog Challenge Bike Race today .

82 miles for a full hog racer and 50 miles for a half hog. Both routes began with a 3 mile ascent of the Snake Pass and ended with a climb up Holme Moss.

The entrants got porridge and hot drinks at the start and flapjacks sandwiches and a hog roast for the finishers.

Sadly I tried to make a late entry but all the places were full, I was quite upset (asif) I went to the starting line and there were about 240 entrants.

These were a few of them, today was bitterly cold and shortly after the start we had heavy rain :-(( some of our camera club took photos up on Snake Pass, brave members, very brave :-)
