A World of Color

Eastern Gray Squirrel... aka 'Grey' Squirrel. Sometimes their coats are slightly red or even a blond color.  Back in the day, we even had a family of very light almost white members. They didn't last long because light  coloring offers very little camouflage. Gray Squirrels are Florida's most common mammal and are found statewide, except in the lower Keys. This little one was keeping her backside warm while snacking on a nut of some kind.
