Nearly open

This Amaryllis is the most fascinating plant.. it almost grows before one's eyes. I blipped it a few days ago when there was no sign of the flower.
Feeling hapoy /sad today. It was not easy saying goodbye to Penni but we had such a wonderful time together and we will dwell on those happy memories.
As we were leaving for the airport for her flight from PE to Jhb she got a message saying her flight to NYC was cancelled. Fortunately she has a friend in Jhb where she can stay. She has managed to get a flight via Zurich tomorrow evening. There are no direct flights for some weeks. She amazes me how calm she is with all these delays.. I guess she is a seasoned traveler.
Her visit has been a tonic for hubby and me, sister M.. and Coda!
Another public holiday here tomorrow.
We plan to visit a friend who sadly is not at all well.
